A little about Mrs. Lawrence
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I am excited to be your child’s teacher! This will be my 32nd year in Education! OMG......... time flies when you are having fun!
I am a California native and I have lived in San Diego since the age of five. I went to college at The University of California Santa Barbara where I majored in Spanish. I then moved back home to San Diego to get my Bilingual Cross-Cultural Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at SDSU. I also have my Masters in Education in Reading Instruction and Curriculum Development. I have taught all grades: Kindergarten-5th grade. I was hired at Casita as the Literacy Coach for the staff 10 years ago, and I haven't left! I am also an adjunct professor at National University in their College of Education where I mentor and teach student teachers in their program. I truly love my job, my team, the Casita staff, and my "Lawrence Littles of Kindergarten"!
I am blessed to have a husband that teaches in the district too! We have five children in our blended family, five dogs, and 2 chickens. Most recently, I became a Grandma and I am an "empty nester"! Our grandson is 17 months old and he is in the Houston area. My "baby girl" is in college at CU Boulder and she runs track and cross country. With 4 of our children living out of state, we are on Southwest Airlines a lot! In my free time I enjoy photography, Peloton workouts, taking road trips in our RV, and reading.
Welcome to Kindergarten! Please feel free to contact me with any questions concerns! It is going to be a great year! I am looking forward to it!
